Yes, this is one of those posts. I love these kinds of posts, you see a bunch of products in one go, a quick review, and weather or not they are worth getting again. Come take a look in my bin for what I’ve used up, am throwing out, and what I think of them. I’ve been collecting this lot for a while now, so there’s a crap load. I hope to do these kinds of posts every 2ish months, so my designated empties box isn’t so full that it’s breaking (i.e. what’s making me write this post(s) ASAP!) I’ve decided to do this in two parts because there is a ridiculous amount of stuff to talk about, so brace yourself, get some coffee (or tea, or scotch) and take a look at my empties part one!
I’ll start with skincare first…
1. ModelsPrefer MATTEme pore minimizing moisturizer.
In short, I didn’t like this moisturizer, I did a review of it here if you want to read more of what I think of it.
2. Bioderma Sebium H20
This is bioderma but for oily skin. I bought it to introduce me to the world of micelle solutions. I liked it and it was nice to use, but it never became an essential part of my skincare routine, I never found myself desperately reaching for it. I used it when I was in a rush in the morning to refresh and quickly clean my skin, or after using face wipes at night when taking off my makeup.
Repurchase? Not this particular brand, but the kind of product, yes.
3. T. N. Dickinson’s all natural Witch Hazel
I’ve been using this one for a while, it’s been a good toner for me and did become a holy grail for me. However, since being introduced to the wonderful world of micelle solutions, I began to reach for it less and less. It does have alcohol in it, so if you know that is something that irritates your skin then be cautious, I never had a problem with it myself though. It picked up the dirt and oil off my skin, not so much foundation or eye make-up, and made it feel fresh and clean.
Repurchase? not at the moment because I am now using something else as my toner, but in the future, possibly.
4. Dermalogica PreCleanse
I LOVE this stuff so much. I use it after my initial removal of make-up and before using my cleanser. The oil lifts and breaks down make-up and makes it super easy to remove and wash off. I have found it to be a little thicker then the M.A.C. Cleanse Off Oil, but absolutely recommend it to everyone and anyone! It even removes my eye makeup and waterproof mascara, I close my eyes and give my eyes and lashes a gentle little rub with the product. It never irritated my eyes or skin, I never found any residue, and there was only ever the tinniest bit of mascara left around my eyes IF anything was ever left on my face even after just using this.
Repurchase? YES! I am using M.A.C.’s Cleanse Off Oil at the moment, but I will buy this one very soon.
I also finished some body products…
5. Original Source Shea Butter and Honey Shower Gel
I really liked this one, the smell reminded me of Lush’s Porridge soap which I also love the smell of. I found it moisturizing on my skin, and really nice to use.
Repurchase? Probably in the future if I’m craving it again
6. Natio Aromatherapy Cinnamon and Tangerine Body Wash *
As a body wash this one is good, I mean, it gets you clean and all of that. But I really didn’t like the smell. It smelled like eucalyptus to me. I didn’t buy this one myself, it was a Christmas gift to my sister which she gave to me.
7. Solace Fruit Selection Summer Berries Bath and Shower Gel *
This one came in a gift set from my best friend for Christmas last year. I really liked the smell but be aware, it is sickly sweet! It was really nice to use on the body too.
Repurchase? If I ever find it in store I would consider it.
8. Gillette Satin Care with a Touch of OLAY Sensitive Shave Gel
To me, shave gel is shave gel. This one was alright.
Repurchase? Probably, if it’s in front of me when I’m looking for the product.
And some hair products…
9. Girlz Only Hazy Days Dry Shampoo I go through try shampoo fairly quickly, I have short hair which means I need to wash my hair more often. I do use dry shampoo, but not excessively, I try not to rely heavily on it. I’ve tired a couple of brands, but I really didn’t like this one. I don’t feel like it did much for my hair or to stop it from looking very oily, it made my hair feel a little gross after a while.
10. Lee Stafford My Big Fat Healthy Hair Shampoo
This is meant to be a volumizing shampoo for your hurr. I remember liking this (it has been a while since I finished it if I’m honest) It made my hair feel healthy, it looked shiny and healthy, and did leave it a bit more volumised then normal. If you’re in the market for a shampoo that will make your hair feel and look healthy, try this one out.
Repurchase? No, only because I’m using others. Maybe in the future
11. Lee Stafford Beach Babe Sea Salt Spray
This was my first ever sea salt spray, I’ve had it for some time now and I tried so hard to use it all up because I don’t like throwing away half used products. Straight up.. No, just no. I have generally had a good relationship with Lee Stafford products, but I really didn’t like this at all. It didn’t make my hair feel beachy or anything like that. Using this, my hair just felt sticky, and dirty and gross. Did not like at all.
Repurchase? Nope, it’s kind of put me off sea salt sprays in general.
Some personal type stuff..
12. Mitchum Endurance 48 hour Strength and Protection
Yes this is for men, I picked it up by accident but decided to go with it. Does a good job but leaves white marks if you’re not careful. I am paranoid about my sweating, so I always go with the heavy duty stuff.
Repurchase? I would consider it.
13. Dove Clinical Protection Antiperspirant Deodorant
I like this one, but I feel like the Rexona one does a slightly better job. I always end up swapping between the two, I do like this product though and would reccomend it.
What have you used up lately? Let me know! If you’ve written a blog post about it leave the link below so I can check it out.
That’s it for part one *takes a breath* part two will be up soon 🙂
