Review: ModelsPrefer MATTEme pore minimising moisturiser with MP aquaFLEX

I’ve been trying for what feels like forever to perfect my skin care routine and find the right products for me. Moisturiser has been big on my list and I’ve been using this one for some time now so I thought I would show you what I think of it. Here’s there one I have been using lately, it’s by ModelsPrefer and is the MATTEme pore minimising moisturiser with MP aquaFLEX.

The packaging of this product is quite chunky as you can see, and in my opinion a little unhygienic. It is a tub style moisturiser where you dip your fingers in to get product out. There’s more plastic then product, and it feels a little cheep to be honest. I seem to prefer my moisturiser in tubes or pump bottles.

I was iffy about whether I would try this product from its release. I just hadn’t found myself drawn to the MP skincare line at all, nothing appealed to me, though I do like their cosmetics. Still, I wanted to see for myself whether I did like the skincare range or not, and this along with an eye make-up remover is what I chose. I have been using this product for several months now, and as you can see from the above photo, I’m almost finished it. I did semi like this product, but I don’t think it was for me. I would recommend this to a younger audience, but not for myself or those my age and older. I’ve also noticed that my skin type has changed recently as well, and I have been trying to accommodate for that. I just don’t feel like it was for me.The product is a medium consistency moisturiser, kind of thin but not too thick, and not watery. It did feel nice when first applying it to my skin, but I don’t feel like it was ever fully absorbed, I always felt like there was a film over my skin, it felt tight and gave my face a weird texture when touching it. This did disappear during the day, but I don’t think a moisturiser is supposed to do this at all. Because of this I just don’t feel it was up to scratch with other moisturisers in its price range.

This product retails for $25 at Priceline.

$25 is pretty steep for a moisturiser- especially for models prefer; I’ve always thought it was a budget friendly brand…
It is slightly concerning that it felt tight on your face; after all, moisturisers are meant to provide moisture to your face right?!

I thought so too, I like the makeup from the brand, but I’m not liking the skincare side of it. I’m struggling to finish off my eye makeup remover by them.
Exactly! I always had this film feeling over my skin, it was really annoying. I wonder if anyone else has had a similar experience to mine? It was a bit of a downer, for me.
